Hoofprints on My Heart: A Letter to Rubee

Dear Rubee,

Thank you for all the memories. You were not just the horse I rode. You were my friend. From those first rides at Savannah Station to the last walk, you've always been there. We understood one another. We both knew what it was like to struggle with vision loss, and because of that, we shared a special connection. You're a warrior, Rubee girl, and I am so thankful we met. You have shown strength and tenacity and have encouraged me in more ways than you'll ever know. Thank you for all the joy you brought into my life through riding. I always felt so safe and comfortable on your back and will always cherish our special connection. I am so grateful for all the memorable times we shared- from trotting around the arena to those sweet Rubee hugs, when you'd rest your head in my arms. Those are memories I'll treasure forever.

You are incredible, Rubee girl. You'll always hold a very special place in my heart. Rubee, every time I get back in the saddle, I'll think of you. You taught me a lot, reminded me to be courageous  and helped me get back in the saddle.

Your legacy will live on, I love you!
